let's talk about creating an effective back-end strategy.
Turning one-time buyers into loyal, lifetime customers who
make you rich.
As
you know, we add people to your list and start building
a relationship with them in two ways:
- When
they buy your front-end product.
- When
they subscribe to your free newsletter.
An
effective back-end strategy means that you make it your
job to continually offer your subscribers good products
and services that they want to buy - and that you
make a nice profit on every sale as you do this.
Remember,
it's expensive and hard to make the first sale to a customer
- it's easy and free to make more sales to him. This is
the value of a lifetime customer. This is where you make
money.
Let's
take a look at what
this really means
If
you're selling a good $50-$100 product on the front-end,
a good estimate is that you can get 5-10% of your customers
to also buy a more expensive $300-$500 back-end product.
People
who have bought from you once are very likely to do so again.
Let's
say you run a paid advertising campaign that brings in 1,000
new customers, but you don't make one cent because your
advertising costs eat up all the profits.
If
you're selling a back-end product that earns you $450 after
order processing/fulfillment costs, this basically means
that you would be able to make as much as $45,000 from these
1,000 new customers - simply by sending out a hot offer
to them.
Cost:
$0 | Profit: $45,000
See how this can be a gold mine? Back-end sales should be
your main profit generator.
It
takes about 10 minutes to send out an offer manually. And
the best news is that the process can be automated. It can
also be repeated with multiple back-end products over time.
You
can make a lot of money simply by selling your front-end
product, but when you start introducing high ticket items
as well, magic happens. You'll be able to make ten times
more money with very little work.
In
other words, when you have all the basics in place and things
start rolling, it's time to start expanding your product
line.
How
to come up with new
products whenever you want
Basically, you have several options when it comes to finding
great products and services to offer your customers
- You
can develop additional products yourself (using the
tips in the product chapter.)
- You
can work with other product developers and introduce
brand new offers based on their work.
-
You can license products. Buy the full reprint rights
to existing products and offer them to your list.
-
You can resell other people's products. Either through
a new joint venture deal or through an existing affiliate
program.
The
perfect marketing machine includes several different
profit centers, including more expensive, high ticket items
and subscription based offers with recurring billing. (I
outline all the different price points and levels, including
product examples, in the Master
Plan.)
The
good thing is that it's actually easy to set up multiple
streams of income like this. There are lots of ways to take
advantage of other people's work - so you certainly shouldn't
try to do everything yourself. (We'll talk more about this
in the full system.)
Now,
let's take a look at the most important thing here. Making
your customers happy.
Treat your customers as your best
friends, and the money follows
Remember this: Your main goal here is not just to "make
money", but to actually HELP your customers. Never
recommend a product to them that you wouldn't recommend
to your best friend.
What
you should do is keep in regular contact with your subscribers
by sending out attractive offers and endorsements of products
that they will truly appreciate.
Quality
and trust are the keys to making this work:
- If
your subscribers feel that you are recommending products
only to make money, they stop trusting you. And rightly
so.

If they feel that you are going out of your way to actually
help them, they act on your offers.
All
you have to do is keep in touch with your contacts regularly
and provide them with information and resources that will
make their lives easier. Find products and services they
will need. Arrange special deals and limited offers for
them.
But
be honest. Only give true value.
Basically,
you will want to send out valuable back-end offers to your
list regularly (at least once per month) in order to maximize
your profits. It's easy to do.
